What brings couples into counseling?

When things in your relationship get tough, they are seriously tough.  People want peace of mind sooner, not later.  This is why I won't just look quietly at you and nod my head with a generic uh-huh.  You will get useful information and enjoyable collaboration that opens up your options and choices.

  • Stress the benefit of conflict management rather than conflict resolution.

  • Learn to manage conflict respectfully when you’re at an impasse.

My Approach

My approach is solution-focused and proactive.  I am motivated to help you achieve your goals as quickly as possible.

My work is characterized by a balance of "been there myself" with a seasoned, collaborative approach.  For this reason, you will set the pace initially.

I utilize the Gottman Method which has the benefit of 40 years of breakthrough research with thousands of couples.  Dr. John Gottman's work on marriage and parenting has earned him many awards and accolades for his contribution to couples counseling.
